WELCOME

This site brings together my notes on Arthurian literature and provides links to translations of some of the more famous texts.

I have also included links to various historical and archaological sites, which I have found quite useful.

The notes on Arthurian literature examine the origins of Arthur and the historical events associated with him.

They include a review of the Celtic origins of the Grail stories and the significance of their appearance at the time of the crusades after the fall of Jerusalem in 1009 and recapture by Godfrei de Boullion in 1099 and their re-emergence in Mallory’s Mort D’Arthur after the fall of Constantinople in 1454.

Currently the Notes on this site do not include the genealogy tables because of difficulties in translating from Word to html. However the full text in book form complete with genealogy tables can be read on issuu.com by clicking here .

This project has been "on-going" for about 15 years and so may change.

The notes are really just records and interpretations of things I have found interesting so don't expect a literary tomb.

Also where ever possible I have tried to reference the sources for the information in the chapters. So I hope I have given credit to other people's ideas
